  Cutimed® Sorbact®
Sterile wound dressing range for the physical and effective removal of microbes from unclean, contaminated and infected wounds.
Cutimed® Sorbact® can be used where microbes hinder wound healing and should be removed.
The special coating of DACC (Dialcylcarbamoylchloride) of Cutimed® Sorbact® gives the dressings their strong hydrophobic (water-resistant) properties.
The wound bacteria also have hydrophobic characteristics and therefore become physically bound to the wound dressing.
Step 1 : Cutimed® Sorbact® is placed directly on the moist surface of the wound thus achieving the contact between the dressing and the wound bacteria.
Step 2 : The bacteria from the wound follow the natural law of hydrophobic interaction and become bound to Cutimed® Sorbact®.
Step 3 : By changing the dressing bound bacteria will be expelled from the wound. Over the course of treatment, Cutimed® Sorbact® reduces the amount of microbes thus creating the ideal conditions to start the natural healing process.
